This was by far the best and most memorable meal we’ve had in California. We walked around The Grove in LA and finally decided to choose this restaurant because it had the right ambiance — classy and casual. And we felt like ribs.

I love eating out with a nice number of people — there were six of us and we ordered a large selection from the menu …

The bread came on the house and it was sinfully delicious! Soft, garlicky and herby …

Garlic bread

Then we shared the pulled pork sandwich — the pulled pork was nice and juicy.

Muffin always orders salsa and chips when he sees it on the menu …

Fresh salsa and chips

And he needed some vegetables in soup form due to the lack of vegetables in our diet recently …

Soup of some sort ...

I have a soft spot for sweet potato fries, and had people to share this with for once!

Sweet potato fries and onion rings

More salad to ensure a balanced diet …

Salad with grilled portabello

We’d been without rice for a week! As Asians, that’s about as long as we could survive without rice, so we had to order this — Grilled Balsamic Prawns on a bed of Jasmine …

Grilled balsamic shrimp with a side of black beans

And then there was the reason we chose this restaurant — All-American Baby Back Ribs! Delicious and tender!

All-American Baby Back Ribs

I normally never order cheesecake at restaurants (for one, I’m lactose intolerant, and secondly, most of the places just serve something similar to Sara Lee’s cheesecake) but since the menu proclaimed that it was the "Best Cheesecake" we had to order it …

The Best Cheesecake

It wasn’t the best, but it was pretty good! Not too rich to trigger stabs of lactose-intolerant-pain, it was just right — and the crumble base was delicious!

Next time, if we’re ever in this neighbourhood again, we wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again — the menu, ambiance and service were all fantastic.
