Day 6: Chilling in South Beach, Miami
We decided to leave the car parked today and investigate Miami Beach on foot. Our first stop was Segafrado Originale (Florida’s first Segafredo) for some real coffee (ie not Starbucks). It was ok, but not as good as home …
We made our way to Miami Beach, via some slightly bummy area. It was a sunny day and the beach was quite busy. As we were getting a little burnt, we decided to walk along Ocean Drive, which was full of touristy eating establishments serving margaritas in very large glasses. When we reached the end, we walked back along Collins Avenue, which was jammed up with traffic and had the usual chain clothing stores.
We were getting a little hungry so stopped by Hosteria Romana on Espanola Way for lunch. After our delicious Italian lunch, we had some gelato from the store across from the restaurant.
We headed back to Lincoln Road to buy some groceries and ended up being ripped off with 3 passionfruits bought at $5 each … at Epicure Market!!. After that we watched a movie (The Artist) at the theatre next to our apartment.
