It’s a chilly, grey Saturday, and we woke up at noon. We decided to check out the "Malaysian Winter Market" over at Westfield White City.

As soon as we stepped out of the tube at Shepherd’s Bush, the delicious smell of satays grilling over charcoal wafted over us … we walked over to the stalls to check out the options (we had limited room in our tummies so we wanted to make sure chose wisely). The longest queue was for the chicken satays so we joined it. £5 for 5 sticks from Puji Puji’s stall …

The satay man

The satay was good — lean, good quality meat with no gristle or fatty bits and the sauce was delicious (ie. not made up from peanut butter). Satay House had a stand there too, but they weren’t selling satays, so they didn’t have many customers …

For appetizers: chicken satays

Several varieties of laksa were also on offer, from Curry laksa to Penang laksa, but since all food was to be eaten standing up, we opted for nasi lemak and rendang instead (£5)…

Nasi lemak with beef rendang

Once we’d eaten our fill, we headed into Westfield for a movie ("Morning Glory").

We popped into Ca’puccino for desserts and coffee before heading home.
