Monks and Ange had set out for an all day tour so we headed off to the restaurant at the lodge for breakfast. The food was ok … Muffin ate some soggy french toast and I had pancakes.

After breakfast, we set off for a slow drive to Mariposa Grove.

As soon as we neared the car park, we were amazed at some of the trees … they were certainly the largest I’ve seen! Their trunks were reddish in colour, and as a result the ground was covered in fine red dirt.

We saw lots of rodents of some sort … (squirrels and chipmunks) as well as birds, butterflies, deer, mushrooms …

It was soon time to return to Evergreen Lodge for dinner.
