We arrive! Singapore in 2022

There were NO QUEUES in Changi! We still had to wear masks indoors at this point. What we did differently this time was that we took a day flight from London. Which was a bad idea, because the little dude only managed to sleep for an hour before we landed!

We arrived in the morning, and there was no-one in the taxi queue. When we got to the hotel our room wasn’t ready so we ended up having some mediocre coffee nearby.

Our usual hotel (Pan Pacific Singapore) was still the same, except we got “upgraded” to a room room that was smaller than our usual room … and with fewer furniture, and boring views. We had floor to ceiling windows, and our views were of buildings instead of the Marina. Note: in the future do not book the “Panaromic” rooms. We’d also paid for breakfast, but after one day we decided the food was pretty disappointing and wasn’t worth waking up / the calories / would rather fill up with lunch elsewhere instead.

I think we managed to take a nap after checking in eventually (after a quick shower, and rolled the blackout shades down). Later that evening, we headed to the food court in Marina Bay Sands for dinner. We ordered the usual — fish ball noodle soup, etc then decided to watch the water fountain show at 8:30pm (the little dude was afraid last time and we had to dash indoors to get away from what seems to be an eerie soundtrack, for him).
