Ichiban, 50 queen street, Glasgow, Scotland

I was hoping that this was the same chain as my favourite ramen restaurant in Sydney ( Ichiban Boshi) but alas it was not.

I ordered a seafood ramen while Muffin had a chilli beef ramen, washed down with Calpico and Kirin beer.

The menu was definitely a little more authentic than Wagamama's -- but so far we haven't found good authentic, affordable ramen in the UK. I think we'll have to go back to Japan for that ...

The ramen stock was a little too salty for my liking and I think they've relied a little too much on MSG for flavouring instead of real stock. Perhaps we should've just ordered many side dishes instead, which looked a little more promising. Nevertheless, I thought the ingredients in my ramen weren't too bad.
