Cafe Hernandez

Cafe Hernandez, 60 Kings Cross Road, Kings Cross, Sydney. Open 24/7!

We're regulars at this joint -- so they know us by our orders! (Soya Flat White and Strong Flat White). We stop by here literally everyday, to pick up our coffees on our way to work during the weekdays, and on weekends we normally eat in (with a thick weekend edition newspaper).

The service is unhurried and casual -- they do get very busy during the peak lunch hours on weekends, and all the night shift cabbies congregate here around midnight. People do wait patiently for their coffees here ... they're THAT good.

On weekends, Muffin can be relied on to order his usual fare -- half a focacia with salad on the side; while the waiters know that I alternate between their Chorizo and Lentil soup, Chicken Schnitzel Roll, various pancakes, crumpets, raisin toast, or Scrambled Eggs and Mushrooms ...

You'll also find some really good Spanish food here.

When I'm feeling more greedy than usual I also check out their cake selection. Their churros goes really well with the coffee ...

I love Hernandez because their food is unpretentious, hearty and delicious!
