Marble Cake


This recipe is from Taste Asian Food and has been adapted to fit my loaf pan.

Ingredients

The Cake

220gbutter cut into cubes
125ggranulated sugar
4 mediumeggs
60mlmilk
200gself-raising flour (sieved)
50gDark chocolate (melted)

Instructions

  1. Make sure everything is at room temperature! (Otherwise the batter will curdle when you add eggs to the butter and sugar)
  2. Preheat oven to 160°C. Grease the cake tin and line with baking parchment.
  3. Mix butter and sugar until smooth
  4. Add in eggs a bit at a time and continue to mix
  5. Mix in milk
  6. Sift in flour in small batches and mix until smooth (do not overmix)
  7. Combine melted chocolate to 1/3rd of the batter
  8. Grease and line tin
  9. Pour in plain and chocolate batter and make a pattern
  10. Bake for 35 mins
