Skellies at the Wellcome Collection
Sunday, 31 August 2008
Met up with Anders and his brother to look at skeletons on display at the Wellcome
Collection. After that we slowly tried to make our way to Finchley Road Vue (sans bikes) to
watch Get Smart.
Singapore Chilli Crab Festival!
Saturday, 30 August 2008
We peddled our way to Brick Lane for the Tiger Beer Chilli Crab Festival ... and along the
way we found this:
Muffin and an inedible crustacean
You call this a chendol??
Muffin eats crab
Curry puffs!
Muffin ordered the Chilli Crab, and he claims it's the best he's had for a while. I had a
really bland Char Kway Teow. And a sad excuse for a chendol. We scored some free Soya Drinks
and bought a box of Laksa paste and a box of Rendang paste. We also ate some fresh curry
puffs.
Before heading back we checked out some cool clothing stores in Brick Lane, and had some
nice refreshing iced teas.
Heading to Cornwall! (for the bank holiday)
Friday, 22 August 2008
For the bank holiday weekend we somehow managed to plan a quick break to
Cornwall ... on a sleeper train to Penzance ... except not in
a sleeper! I made a screwup and we had to sleep sitting up all the way to Penzance -- and our
travelling companions were not impressed ...
Some dude started a rumour that the seat allocations were screwed up and we had to do a
bit of shuffling around at the beginning of the journey ...
The Lion King
Wednesday, 20 August 2008
We had a quick dinner at Cha Cha Moon ... and then headed off to the Lyceum Theatre to
watch the Lion King since Cami and Andrew wanted to see it. It was pretty good except for the
songs that weren't in the original cartoon.
Tourist run
Friday, 15 August 2008
Look, up in the sky! It's a bird ... a plane ...
Cami was in town so we took her sight-seeing ...
First stop was the London office to say hello and for some quick drinks ... After that we
went for a walk near the Southbank, and rested near the London Eye. After that we headed to
Covent Garden -- saw the night markets and had a coffee at Nero's. When the rest of the dinner
party arrived we headed off to Belgo Centraal for moules and frittes!
... it's a blimp ...
Haircut time ...
Monday, 11 August 2008
We were pretty looking pretty frumpy and had overgrown the haircut we had in Manila
earlier this year.
Surfing about, I found a Japanese/Korean unisex hair salon near Totenham Court Road called
Jubilee Hair Salon. Muffin got
a cute female Japanese hairdresser and picked a style from a magazine, while I told my Korean
hairdresser that I wanted it short.
I remembered to do a BEFORE shot, but forgot the after ... so look elsewhere for those! :B
